NAWABSHAH: Traders community pulled down shutters on Wednesday to mark their protest over the levy of withholding tax on banking transactions. All the markets, shopping centres, eateries and shops remained closed.
The public transport plying between Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Karachi and other destinations, however, continued as usual with limited commuters. Traders said that the imposition of withholding tax was severally hampering business activities and was not acceptable to traders at any cost.
Traders demanded that the tax be withdrawn otherwise the traders would be constrained to launch protest for a longer period.
