3 new roads to herald prosperity in Chitral
CHITRAL: Member National Assembly Shahzada Iftikharuddin said on Thursday that prosperity and development would usher in the valley after the completion of Booni-Shandur, Garam Chashma and Bamboret valley roads.
Addressing a press briefing here, the MNA said the roads would open new avenues of business and trade for the people of the area.Director Planning and other officials of National Highway Authority were also present on the occasion.
The MNA said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had honoured his promise and approved Rs13 billion for the construction of the three key roads in the district.
The federal legislator added that these roads could also be used as an alternative to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor route after completion. He added that after the completion of the road projects, Kalash valleys and Garam Chashma would become easily accessible to the tourists.
The MNA maintained that with the boost in tourism, the per capita income of the residents of the area would also increase.
The NHA official, Engr Parkash, briefed the participants about the designing and modalities of the roads. He said that NHA had already obtained the services of the consultants in this regard.He added that construction work on the roads would start on June 30, 2017 and the project would complete within the next two years.District Council member Shahzada Khalid Pervez was also present on the occasion.
