Lux Style Awards impress viewers
KARACHI: Lux Style Awards, where the most adored personalities of TV, film, fashion and music came together, proved to be an extravagant affair for the industry. Geo TV aired this event on Saturday night.
The 15th edition of the annual Lux Style Awards, a celebration of culture in all its glory took place, celebrated Pakistani personalities from various fields of fashion, films, music and television came together to grace the event.
A special tribute in the ceremony was paid to renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri who was gunned down. His family graced the occasion. The event was hosted by Ali Zafar.
Awards were given out in 28 categories. Mahira Khan won best actress for television and Faisal Qureshi won best television actor. “Azad Films Co & Mandviwalla Entertainment film Moor, released in association with Geo, won the best film award.
“The Lux Style Awards are a reaffirmation of our belief in the outstanding talent we have in Pakistan,” said Shazia Syed, chairperson of Unilever Pakistan.
Over the last fifteen years, the LSA have been a premier and unbiased platform showcasing the abilities of our budding local talent for the world to see in the fields of film, music, fashion and glamour. Ali Zafar has fantastic energy and it showed as he opened proceedings with a tongue-in-cheek song he especially wrote for the 15th anniversary of the LSAs. Throughout the evening, Ali was on his charming best & added a lot of positivity to the show.
Lux lady of the moment, Mahira Khan, however was radiant and gorgeous. Her finale performance helped feed high voltage energy back into an audience. One saw a surprisingly agile Sohail Ali Abro show her moves and then we saw Pakistan’s best humourists Vasay Chaudhry, Ahmed Ali Butt and Yasir Hussain spin their magic. The special tribute for late Amjad Sabri was poignant and sensitive.
