Soldier killed in Mohmand IED blast
GHALLANAI: A soldier was killed while a house was damaged on Saturday in two separate improvised explosive device (IED) blasts in Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency, official sources said.
They said the first blast was caused by an explosive device planted near the house of a tribesman Abdullah
Khan in Koz Chamarkand area. The sources said that the personnel of the Mohmand Rifles reached the blast site and launched a search operation when another IED planted nearby went off.
They said a soldier sustained injuries in the explosion and was shifted to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Two killed in Bara grenade attack: Two persons were killed and five others sustained injuries in a night-time hand- grenade attack on the hujra of a retired government official in Akakhel area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency, official sources said on Saturday.
They said that unidentified miscreants hurled a hand-grenade into the hujra of Mawaz Khan Afridi, a former Assistant Political Agent of Orakzai Agency, in Bara tehsil late Friday night. Two persons identified as Zakir and Atiq were killed in the explosion.
