Two TTP militants arrested in Kohat
KOHAT: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested two members of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from the Sheen Dhand Road here on Friday, official sources said.
Acting on a tip-off, the CTD personnel arrested the militants identified as Ayaz Khan and Abdullah from the Sheen Dhand Road in Kohat, the police sources said.They added that explosives and detonators had also been recovered from the arrested militants.
According to the CTD, the militants were arrested while they were trying to sneak into the Kohat district from the adjoining semi-tribal Frontier Region Kohat. The detained militants were later shifted to the CTD Headquarters in Kohat for interrogation.
It was learnt that during preliminary interrogation the militants belonged to the Yakkatoot locality in Peshawar and were wanted by the police in the murder cases of a former Member of National Assembly (MNA) and three cops, According to the CTD, they were also wanted for attacks on security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
