QUETTA: An ASI was gunned down on the Sariab Road in Quetta on Wednesday.Unidentified armed persons intercepted ASI Azizur Rehman in the Chaki Shanawi area on the Sariab Road and opened fire on him, fatally injuring him.
The injured was rushed to the Civil Hospital for treatment where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.The police have registered a case and started investigation.
According to another report, the Frontier Constabulary on Wednesday claimed to have foiled a major terror bid and seized a huge cache of explosives from a hideout in the Mach area of Balochistan.
On a tip-off, the FC raided a hideout and arrested nine Afghans and recovered 20 kg of explosives from their possession. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation.Meanwhile, the FC carried out a search operation in Dera Bugti and arrested three members of a banned outfit.
