Man kills daughter for ‘honour’
LAHORE:A 22-yearold woman was allegedly beaten to death by her father in an alleged ‘honour’-related incident in Kahna’s Sue-e-Asal area on Thursday.According to Edhi Foundation, Aslam attacked his daughter ‘S’ with sticks over her ‘character’. Police arrested him.
Woman, brother held in house robbery case
Police arrested a woman and her brother in connection with a house robbery in Ghalib Market on Thursday.According to police, Irum and her brother Ali were identified through CCTV and technology-based investigations. They planned the robbery while holding a Kuwait-returned family hostage. Irum worked for the family and allegedly conspired with her brother and a cousin Samee, who is still at large.
Four suspects held in separate raids
Dolphin Squad arrested two alleged robbers, Sajid and Ijaz, in operations in Manga Mandi and Chuhng areas. Both have prior criminal records. Meanwhile, police detained Shakeeb and Umer for allegedly shooting and injuring a youth, Sultan, during a minor dispute in PAF Colony. Separately, Manga Mandi police arrested 13 proclaimed offenders over the past two days.
23 cases registered in anti-smog drive
Punjab Police registered 23 cases under the anti-smog crackdown in the past 24 hours across various districts, arresting several violators. Officials imposed fines of Rs1.35 million on 556 individuals and issued 46 warnings. Violations included 2 cases of crop residue burning, 336 smoke-emitting vehicles, 4 industrial offences, and 6 brick kiln violations.So far this year, police have registered 2,749 cases, arrested 2,422 violators, and collected over Rs225.7 million in fines from 94,695 individuals.
37 officials penalised
Dolphin Force, under SP Akhtar Nawaz, took disciplinary action against 37 officials for negligence and misconduct following an ‘ardal room’ review at Walton Headquarters. Penalties included salary deductions, withholding of increments, and service record cuts. Two officials were dismissed over corruption, while eight others received show-cause notices.
