IHC expresses displeasure in case of land compensation payment
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday expressed displeasure in a case related to the payment of land compensation and ordered examination of relevant documents and submission of a comprehensive report.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case till December 10. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that if department concerned could not perform its duty, the matter should be handed over to the FIA. He said there should be a clear method for proper verification of any action. He said a decision was given in favour of the petitioner in 2021, but the case was not taken forward after that.
The court inquired if the record is not available, should it be assumed that the entire matter is fake. The petitioner came on the rostrum and took the stand that he had done his job honestly. “The third generation is running but the case is not being decided. My father also passed away while fighting the same case”, he added.
