Three robbers held after shootout in Kohat
KOHAT: The police arrested three armed robbers, including one injured, following a firefight in the Qalo Khan Banda area here on Tuesday.
District Police Officer (DPO), Kohat, Shahbaz Ilahi said the police had received information that armed robbers were attempting to loot passengers on Qalo Khan Banda Road. He said a police party was sent to the area and the robbers opened fire on the police team, triggering an exchange of fire. In the ensuing exchange, he said, one robber was injured and all three were taken into custody.
The injured robber was shifted to a hospital for treatment. Weapons used by the robbers were also recovered by police.
DPO Shahbaz Ilahi stated that the arrested criminals had been creating fear among locals for several days.
