Report on land owned by Aleema filed with ATC

RAWALPINDI: Punjab’s Board of Revenue has submitted a detailed report on the land owned by Aleema Khanum, sister of the former PTI chairman and an accused in the Sadiqabad police station case pertaining to the November 26 PTI protest, to the Special Court of Anti-Terrorism here.

According to the report, 42 acres (338 kanals) of land owned by Aleema Khanum in four different districts have been identified. Meanwhile, due to her continued absence and alleged deliberate concealment, the court has ordered the freezing of 22 additional bank accounts of the accused in Allied Bank and United Bank. For non-compliance with earlier court orders, non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued for the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the Chairman CDA, with directions to the IG Islamabad to ensure execution of the warrants. The court also reissued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the accused due to her persistent absence and adjourned the hearing until November 20. Neither Aleema Khanum nor her legal representatives appeared before the court on Monday, while Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah and the prosecution witnesses were present along with the case file.

During proceedings, the court was informed that the Punjab Board of Revenue, based on reports from deputy commissioners of 38 districts, has identified the following properties owned by the accused: 51 kanals 16 marlas in Bhakkar district, 1 kanal 4 marlas in Mouza Mian Mir, Lahore district, 1 kanal 1 marla in Mouza Noorpur Kamboh (Tehsil Lahore Cantonment), 64 kanals 14 marlas in Mouza Sultan, Tehsil Raiwind, Lahore, 217 kanals 5 marlas in Mouza Bazaar, Mianwali district, and 4 kanals 13 marlas in Mouza Ferozwala, Sheikhupura district. This brings the total landholding of the accused to 338 kanals (42 acres) across four districts.

The court directed the freezing of seven additional bank accounts of the accused in Allied Bank and 15 in United Bank. With 15 accounts already frozen, the number of frozen accounts now stands at 37. The court was also informed that letters and a reminder notice were issued to the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the Chairman CDA, but no response or representation was made. Consequently, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for both officials and ordered the IG Islamabad to ensure their execution. During Monday’s hearing, one guarantor associated with vehicles in the case surrendered before the court. However, due to the non-arrest of two other guarantors, the court issued non-bailable warrants for them as well and adjourned proceedings until November 20.

According to Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah, the accused’s continuous absence and non-compliance may lead to her being declared a proclaimed offender. In such a situation, all identified properties may be confiscated by the government and auctioned.
