JUIF Khairpur president injured in incident
SUKKUR: JUI-F City Khairpur President Maulana Muhammad Owais Phulpoto was injured in an attack at the Rohri Toll Plaza on the National Highway in Sukkur. According to Police the incident was the result of road rage after both the cars were trying to cross the National Highway during traffic jam, here on Monday.
However, Maulana Owais Phulpoto said that he was travelling from Khairpur towards Sukkur when his car collided with another vehicle at the Rohri Toll Plaza crossing. As he stopped his car, the occupant of the other car opened fire at him and hit him with pistol butt. Later the Rohri Police arrested the accused along with the pistol. According to Sukkur Police the clash resulted when both the cars were crossing the National Highway near Rohri Toll Plaza during a traffic jam. The clash resulted in injuries to the JUIF leader. The attacker, was however arrested, they confirmed.
Following the incident, JUI-F leaders and activists from Sukkur rushed to Taluka Hospital in Rohri and protested against the attack. They demanded stern action against the accused, who had attacked their party leader.
