Crackdown against narcotics: Ice, hashish and heroin seized in raids across KP
PESHAWAR: In line with the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy on narcotics, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department carried out operations across the province against ice dealers, drug traffickers, and suppliers.
According to the weekly operations details issued by Directorate General of Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control, multiple raids were conducted in various districts, resulting in arrests and substantial drug recoveries.
In Peshawar, the Excise Police Peshawar team, acting on a tip-off, raided a private guesthouse on University Road where a drug party was underway. The raid led to the arrest of Zahidullah, Shehzar Khan, Abdullah, Salamat and others and the seizure of 52 grams of Ice, hashish and liquor.
Similarly, in Peshawar’s Gulbahar No. 2 area, SHO Rasool Rehman Khattak raided a diaper shop at Ishrat Cinema Chowk, recovering 200 grams of ice from the accused Shehzad, while his accomplice Mudassir was also arrested from Dilazak Road.
In a separate intelligence-based operation by the Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation, two ice suppliers, Rizwan and Hassan Din, were arrested from the hostel of a major educational institution in Peshawar, with 510 grams of ice and 600 grams of hashish recovered from them.
In Abbottabad, during an operation on Dhangar Road, led by SHO Faisal Khan, an Ice smuggler, Ashfaq, was arrested with 2200 grams of Ice and 1200 grams of heroin.Another raid on Takiya Bypass Road resulted in the arrest of Ali Raza, from whom 602 grams of ice were seized.
Additionally, on Havelian Bypass, an Ice smuggler, Nijat Gul, was arrested with 400 grams of Ice, and a case has been registered against him. In another Peshawar operation near Haji Camp Adda, the Excise team arrested ice smuggler Attaullah and recovered 300 grams of ice.
Acting on a tip-off, the department officials arrested Syed Shah Naseem, recovering 100 grams of ice from his possession.On Peshawar Ring Road, accused Nadir, son of Mirza, was arrested with 1200 grams of hashish and 137 grams of ice.
In Swat, the Excise team arrested an ice dealer, Izzat Ali during a raid in the Matta area, recovering 501 grams of ice. In Mardan, during a raid on Charsadda Road, the Excise Police Mardan arrested ice smuggler Hameed Gul, recovering 400 grams of ice and 4800 grams of hashish. The accused was transporting the narcotics in vehicle number W-2556.
In Khyber district, during an operation on Wazir Dhund Road, the Excise team arrested a key supplier, Sher Ali, who was providing Ice to students of educational institutions. A total of 1200 grams of ice was recovered from him.
The operations were supervised by Provincial Incharge, Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation, Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise & Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations), Majid Khan.
