ATC issues arrest warrant for Aleema

RAWALPINDI: Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has issued an arrest warrant for the tenth time for Aleema Khanum, the sister of former chairman, named in the Sadiqabad police station case over the November 26 protest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for her continued absence and absconding.

It has ordered the police to arrest the accused and present her in court on Nov 17. The court adjourned the hearing till December 13 after appearance of the other accused in 11 cases of May 9. Aleema Khanum and her lawyers did not appear in the court during the hearing of the case of Sadiqabad police station on Thursday; however, the other accused named in the case were present in the court.

The court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khanum for the tenth time and ordered the accused to be arrested and presented on Nov 17.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and other accused appeared in the court during the hearing of 11 cases of May 9 incident. The court allowed the accused to leave after their appearance; however, the process of distributing copies of challans among the accused could not be completed. The hearing was adjourned until Dec 13.
