KP CM urged to postpone PMS exams
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Management Services (PMS) core committee has once again urged Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi to postpone the upcoming PMS examinations in view of the prevailing law and order in various parts of the province.
The committee also demanded the restoration of 40 marks for the screening test. Speaking at a press conference, core committee members including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sumbal, Malik Afnan Awan, Yasir Ahmed, Sohail Khan, and others said the candidates were unable to adequately prepare for the exams due to the prevailing security concerns in various districts.
They called for a four-month postponement through a unanimous resolution.
They recalled that the chief minister had earlier assured them that the PMS exams would be delayed and the 40 marks for the screening test would be restored.
“Our demand is legitimate and based on principles. We appeal to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to take immediate notice of the situation, use his discretionary powers, and restore the 40 percent marks in the screening exam,” said one of the members of the committee.
The speakers further claimed that 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the screening test were completely incorrect, affecting over 11,000 candidates due to what they described as the commission’s mistake.
