Punjab put on high alert after Islamabad blast
LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has placed the entire province on high alert following the recent terrorist attack in Islamabad.
According to a spokesperson for the department, all districts have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the security plan and take proactive measures in view of possible terror threats.
The department has instructed authorities to strengthen security in sensitive, key, and densely populated areas across Punjab. Directives have been issued to the Inspector General of Punjab Police, CCPO Lahore, all RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs to remain vigilant and intensify monitoring activities.
Furthermore, commissioners, deputy commissioners, and rescue agencies across the province have been placed on high alert to ensure rapid response and coordination.
“The Punjab Home Department has emphasized the need for coordinated and effective measures to counter extremist threats,” the spokesperson said, adding that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of the government of Punjab.
