Prices of vegetables remain low, but fruits, chicken keep increasing

LAHORE: Mainly decreasing trend in the prices of vegetables was recorded this week while the rates of fruits and chicken meat kept increasing.

The chicken meat prices after a brief two weeks declining trend returned to the increasing trajectory and in one week time Rs50 per kilogram was added to the retail prices. This is expected the increasing trend will continue in the coming weeks as the ‘issues’ among the poultry farmers are settled so the rates were recovered. On fruit prices, Pakistan-Afghan border closure impact continued while some supplies came from Iran borders, even then the rates of majority of fruits remained high.

This week the price of live chicken was gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs319-333 per kg, but didn’t not sell in the city, and chicken meat by Rs50 per kg, was fixed at Rs482 per kg, sold at Rs540 to Rs630 per kg, and chicken boneless was sold at Rs750-850 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin new unchanged at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs130-150 per kg.The price of potato sugar free reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs55-60 kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

The price of onion was unchanged at Rs135-145 per kg, mixed sold at Rs150-180 per kg.The price of tomato was further reduced by Rs75 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150-220 per kg.

The price of garlic local new was further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed Rs180-190 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, Garlic Harani increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs267-280 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg, Garic China was fixed at Rs390-410 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg.

The price of Ginger Tahi further reduced by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs480-500 per kg, Ginger China by Rs40 per kg. fixed at Rs480-500 per kg, both sold at Rs600-700 per kg.

Cucumber Farm further reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 kg, sold at Rs120-15 per kg, cucumber local was fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.

Brinjal price was also reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.Biter gourd declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg.The price Spinach unchanged at Rs33-35 sold at Rs50-70 per kg.

Zucchini local declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs142-150 per kg, not sold, Zucchini Farm by Rs15 per kg, was fixed at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-130 per kg.The lemon China increased by Rs5 per kg. fixed at Rs80-85 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg.

Pumpkin was declined by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-150 per kg.Lady finger was also reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs180-220 per kg.Luffa was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs220-250 per kg.
