7 NCCIA officers resign after arrest in corruption case
LAHORE: Seven officers of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), who were recently arrested, have tendered their resignations.
According to sources, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Lahore had registered a case last week against eight NCCIA officials. Following the registration of the case, seven of the accused submitted their resignations.
NCCIA Director General Syed Khurram Ali forwarded the resignations to the Ministry of Interior for approval, which is expected in next few days. The NCCIA DG submitted the resignations to the interior ministry two days ago.
The arrested officers include Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry, Deputy Director Zawar Ahmed, Assistant Directors Mujtaba Zafar, Shoaib Riaz, and Muhammad Usman, as well as Sub-Inspectors Yasir Ramzan and Ali Raza. Deputy Director Ayaz Khan has been declared absconder in the case. The NCCIA spokesperson refused to comment on the development.
