Soldier injured in Swat checkpost attack

MINGORA: A soldier sustained injuries when gunmen opened fire on a checkpost in Charbagh tehsil in Swat district, official sources said on Tuesday. The sources said the gunmen fired at the checkpost in Tilligram Sirjai village in Charbagh tehsil and left a soldier Shaukat Ali injured. The security forces launched search in the area and arrested several suspects during the door-to-door operation, the sources said. There have been some attacks by suspected militants on the security personnel in recent weeks in different parts of Swat including those in Kalam, Utror, Charbagh, etc. This has caused concern among the people and prompted the army and police commanders to increase security measures in the vulnerable areas.
