Any contact with govt will be thru Achakzai: Imran
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has stated that there will be no talks with the “Form-47 government” or the establishment.
Dr Uzma Khan, speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday alongside Aleema Khan after meeting Imran, said she conveyed all updates to her brother. She told the media that Imran Khan said, “Those who did not abandon the PTI are the ones who suffered the most.”
The PTI founder stated that any communication would take place only through Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the head of the opposition alliance; therefore, all dialogue will be conducted through the alliance.
According to Dr Uzma Khan, the PTI founder said, “What kind of negotiations can be held with a Form-47 government?
When the prime minister tells the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister that he will have to ‘ask and then inform’ about a meeting, what remains to be discussed?”
Imran Khan said there is no point in talking to them. “It’s been nearly three years, and they continue to tighten the screws on me. Never in history has such oppression occurred as it has in this era,” he added.
He said that whenever he tried to engage in talks with the establishment, the oppression against the PTI only intensified. He further said, “Dr Yasmin Rashid is a cancer patient, yet she is being kept in jail. Bushra Bibi is being held in solitary confinement.”
According to Dr Uzma Khan, Imran said, “I have complete trust in Salman Akram Raja. All messages to the party will be conveyed only through him.”
