Girl students display 154 projects at AI exhibition
PESHAWAR: The makeshift canopy at the main lawn of Frontier Science Academy Hayatabad here presented a beautiful look where 115 girl students had put their 154 projects on display to attract visitors at the two-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) exhibition, which commenced on Monday.
Each student had prepared a separate project with the help of various AI tools. They had brought their laptops from home to showcase their short videos that they had prepared on a host of topics.
The students seemed enthusiastic to present their projects to the visiting parents, students and representatives from various media outlets. They were so confident and fluent in speaking about whatever they had put on display in multiple languages, mostly English and Urdu.
Amina Yousaf, a seventh-grade student, had prepared two videos - one on the human respiratory system and the other on a railway carriage. She said that it was a great opportunity for students like her to learn the use of various AI tools and present their work before fellow students, teachers, and other visitors.
“It not only instills confidence among young girl students but also enhances their learning capabilities,” she said.Hamayl Ikram, another student of the same class, had displayed her project on the role of trees in the cleanliness of air.
Through her video, she wanted to create awareness about the importance of trees in keeping the environment clean. She said that the emission of various gases from factories, cars, and other sources, as well as solid waste on earth, contaminates the air quality. “These trees inhale those gases through photosynthesis and exhale clean oxygen to society,” she said.
Hamayl Ikram stressed the need for growing more and more trees, which would not only keep the environment clean but also enable people to better combat the hazards of climate change.Dure Aden had displayed her project about the life cycle of trees in which she showed how plants grow from a small seedling to a young sapling and then to a mature tree.
She was thankful to her teachers and school management for providing the students with the opportunity to show their talent, gain confidence, and acquire knowledge.Anaya, an eighth-class student, through her project made an effort to explain the current and future impact of the AI revolution. She said that AI has brought about a great revolution in every field. “Soon we will see driverless cars and air taxi services,” she said.
Some students had prepared their projects on Pakhtun culture, others on the history of the country. Others had displayed projects about mathematics, while others focused on different subjects.
Eman Imran’s project about Chemistry’s periodic table was informative.Arif Gohar overall patronized the event with the support of Dr Taj Ali, curriculum head; headmistress, Saima Hamid; and project coordinators including teachers Sumbal, Arooba, Sofia, Laiba, and Zahida.
