Mobile banking fraud: Police recover Rs2.5m in Kohat
KOHAT: Kohat Police have recovered Rs2.5 million and arrested two suspects involved in a sophisticated mobile banking and Easypaisa fraud, following swift action ordered by District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Zahidullah after a citizen lodged a complaint.
Kohat City Police Station SHO Fayyaz Khan said the arrested suspects had allegedly defrauded local shopkeepers in Kohat by using mobile banking applications linked to a stolen phone. The police, he added, conducted a successful operation in Islamabad’s Sabzi Mandi area, where the two accused were apprehended and the embezzled money recovered.The suspects were identified as Roman Khan, a resident of Naway Killay Kohat, and Haroon, a resident of Dhoda Road Kohat.
