Teen from Lyari kidnapped by Katcha bandits
A 16-year-old boy from Lyari was allegedly kidnapped by bandits from the Katcha area of Ghotki, police said on Thursday.
According to the police, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Chakiwara police station, where a case had been registered on the complaint of the victim’s mother under kidnapping charges against unidentified suspects.
Initial investigations suggested that the teenager, identified as Youman, was lured to Ghotki through a honey trap. His family told police that he had left home on October 18 to buy meat but never returned, prompting them to begin a search.
Disturbing images of the abducted boy in chains had gone viral on social media, sparking concern among residents and authorities. The police said the abductors had demanded a ransom of Rs10 million from the family for Youman’s release. The boy was believed to be held in the Kutcha area of Ghotki. Officials added that an investigation has been launched, and preparations are underway for a search operation to recover the abducted teenager.
