COMSATS Abbottabad Campus holds 40th convocation
ABBOTTABAD: Around 1,282 graduates received degrees at the 40th convocation of the COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Abbottabad Campus.
Some 92 top-performing students were honoured with gold, silver, and bronze medals at the event presided over by Prof Dr Sajid Qamar, acting Rector of COMSATS University Islamabad. During the ceremony, Dr Samar conferred medals upon the position holder students and congratulated them on their outstanding academic achievements.
The graduating cohort comprised 901 Bachelor’s, 350 Master’s, and 31 PhD scholars, reflecting the university’s growing contribution to higher education. The convocation also featured Yu Lei from China and Felicien Sebahire from Rwanda, reflecting the diverse and international learning environment fostered at COMSATS while more than 80 Afghan students received their degrees across various disciplines such as Business Administration (BBA), Computer Science (BCS), Software Engineering (BSE), Biotechnology (BTY), Electrical Engineering (EEE), Civil Engineering (CVE), and Economics (BEC).
Among the graduates were talented Afghan female students including Humaira, Zubaida, Atifa, Maria, Hameeda, Marzia, Nilofar, Rahila, Maryam Qasimi, Shakila Jafari, and Hakima, who were commended for their dedication and outstanding academic performance.
The convocation recognized academic excellence across two sessions, with 35 medalists from Fall 2024 and 57 from Spring 2025.
