Interviews for HEC executive director’s post: Dr Madad says portal glitch led to his name being left out of candidates’ list
A senior educationist and vice chancellor of two universities in Sindh, Professor Dr. Madad Ali Shah, has blamed the online application portal for not calling candidates for the interview of the executive director’s post of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), saying that due to a glitch in the online application portal, his credentials sent through surface mail were not included in his profile.
In a letter written to Federal Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister of State Wajia Qamar and Secretary Education Nadeem Mehboob, he said that he applied for the post of HEC executive director. His name was included in the last 46 candidates; however, the list of the candidates called for interviews does not include his name. He said it appears that his credentials forwarded through surface mail were not included in his profile due to a glitch in the online application portal.
Prof Shah further said that having served the education sector at the prestigious level as vice-chancellor for over 7 years and contributing in the Pakistan Engineering Council and Higher Education Commission’s efforts for the betterment of education at national level, he deserves a chance to be considered eligible for the interview. He requested that he be given a chance to appear in the interview.
