Security forces kill 34 Khwarij in KP operations
RAWALPINDI/ LAHORE: Security forces killed 34 Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij in multiple engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from October 13 to 15, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
On reported presence of Khwarij, an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) was conducted in general area Spinwam of North Waziristan District. The troops effectively engaged the location and killed 18 Khwarij.
In another operation conducted in South Waziristan District, the forces killed eight Khwarij.
In yet another encounter in Bannu District, the troops neutralized eight more Khwarij. Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Khwarij in the area. Asim Yasin adds: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday commended the armed forces and security agencies for successful operations in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing several Indian-backed Fitna-al-Khwarij terrorists. In separate statements, they said the security forces foiled the nefarious designs of terrorists through their professional skills.
Zardari said these operations were a matter of pride for the nation and reflected the professionalism, courage, and determination of security forces. He noted that the timely and effective actions of the security agencies had frustrated India-backed terrorists and significantly improved the overall peace and stability situation in the country.
He emphasised that Pakistan will root out India-backed Fitna-al-Khwarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan and will not rest until terrorism was fully defeated.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari Thursday visited the residence of Lt-Col Junaid Shaheed in Rawalpindi to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
The president expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the family of the martyred officer and prayed for the elevation of his rank in Jannah and for strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi accompanied the president.
Sher Ali Khalti adds: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for neutralizing 34 terrorists and said those who attempt to disrupt peace of the dear homeland would be dealt with an iron hand. She reiterated the government’s unflinching resolve to permanently stamp out terrorism from the country.
