Taliban’s aggression : Pakistan provides documentary evidence to UN
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has provided documentary evidence to the United Nations (UN) regarding Taliban regime’s aggression against Pakistan and its active support for terrorists who are perpetrating their nefarious activities on Pakistan’s soil causing loss of precious human loss.
Highly placed government sources told The News/Jang here Wednesday that the diplomatic engagement with important world capitals, especially with friendly countries regarding Afghan regime’s aggressive actions and unprovoked attacks on Pakistan’s positions across the international border turned out to be productive and no country has endorsed Afghan regime’s aggression.
“Pakistan’s standpoint and contention in the matter is being overwhelmingly approved,” they said. Pakistan’s Special Representative on Afghanistan, State Minister Muhammad Sadiq Khan, who is also Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) is in constant touch with special representatives on Afghanistan of other countries and some capitals. He has been keeping all the countries updated about the developments.
Foreign Secretary Ms Amna Baloch has also briefed the envoys of world capitals posted in Islamabad about the situation resulting out of Taliban aggression.
SAPM on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatimi has discussed the situation with several leaders and apprised them of Pakistan’s position.
The sources indicated that Pakistan has downgraded status of the Taliban administration of Afghanistan and it has been given the title of “Taliban regime”. The nomenclature truly represents its status since it would be used in all communications, the sources said.
“The possibility of ceasefire breach couldn’t be ruled out during this period since Taliban fighters don’t have unity of command.” In case of any breach, the consequences would be devastating for the regime,” the sources warned.
