Parachinar, Orakzai residents stage rallies in support of army

PARACHINAR/ORAKZAI: The residents in Parachinar and Orakzai tribal district on Sunday staged rallies to express solidarity with the Pakistan Army after unprovoked firing and shelling from across the Afghan border.

The participants of the rally marched through the city, chanting slogans such as “Pakistan Army Zindabad” and “Down with the Modi -Taliban alliance.”

Addressing the gathering outside the Parachinar Press Club, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Arshad Afridi and tribal elders condemned the cross-border attacks, calling them a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

They said Pakistan had always supported Afghanistan, but regretted that Afghan authorities had repeatedly responded with hostility and aligned themselves with India.

The speakers praised the Pakistan Army and security forces for their strong and timely response, saying that the aggressors fled the area after suffering heavy losses.

Tribal leaders reiterated their full support for the armed forces, vowing to stand by them in every difficult time and defend the country’s borders at all costs.

In Orakzai, the tribal elders and residents organized a “Pakistan Zindabad” rally to express solidarity with the Pakistan Army.

The rally began from the Lower Orakzai headquarters and marched toward the main square, where large numbers of tribesmen gathered, chanting slogans such as “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan) and “Afghanistan Murdabad” (Down with Afghanistan).

Speaking at the event, tribal elders strongly condemned the unprovoked incursion from across the border, calling it “highly regrettable.” They reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to defending the nation, stating that the people of Orakzai have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army in safeguarding the country’s borders.

The elders said that they had fought against terrorists and anti-state elements in the past and would continue to defend Pakistan with the same spirit and courage.

“Defending our homeland is not just a duty - it’s an honour,” one of the tribal leaders said during the rally.
