Ex-PA candidate rejoins PPP in Chitral
CHITRAL: Former provincial assembly candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians, Shahzada Khalid Pervaiz, rejoined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) at a gathering attended by hundreds of party workers during the inauguration of the party’s district office.
Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Pervaiz said that he had contested the last election under Pervez Khattak’s party due to unavoidable circumstances, not by choice. “I secured 12,000 votes in that election, but it was never my desire to leave PPP. It was my compulsion. Today, I apologise to the workers for that mistake and rejoin the party unconditionally,” he remarked.
Shahzada Pervaiz, the son of late Shahzada Mohiyuddin, said that he would strive hard to promote the party’s cause in the region. “Our aim is to work for the development of our area,” said.
His decision was warmly welcomed by party workers, who appreciated his return. Acting District President Sharif Hussain, who presided over the ceremony, formally welcomed Khalid Pervaiz by presenting him with a party scarf, calling his inclusion a positive sign for the party’s future.
The PPP district office was established through the personal efforts and financial support of Senator Talha Mehmood. Party workers also expressed gratitude to the senator for providing the facility.
