BISE Mardan head says paper leak eradicated, merit restored
MARDAN: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan Chairman Prof Jehanzab Khan Toru on Saturday said that the menace of paper leaks had been eradicated, terming it a matter of pride for the board.
Speaking at the “Meet-the-Press” programme at Mardan Press Club, he said effective measures had ensured strict control over cheating during examinations, thereby restoring public trust in the institution.
Prof Jehanzeb outlined the board’s initiatives aimed at ensuring transparency, merit, and efficiency in the examination system.
He said reforms were being introduced to facilitate students, raise academic standards, and minimize errors through the use of modern technology, adding that these measures would also bring more credibility to the system.
The chairman stressed the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the media to promote awareness regarding education policies.
Responding to questions from journalists, he assured that all possible steps would be taken to address the concerns of students and institutions, while reiterating that no compromise would be made on illegal practices.
Prof Jehanzeb said that 22 staff members had been promoted during his tenure, ending a years-long delay in their cases. Acknowledging the challenges that he faced upon assuming charge, he credited sound planning and reforms with rebuilding public confidence in the board.
Prof Jehanzeb pledged that no examination paper would be leaked from the BISE Mardan in the future, terming the success in preventing leaks in the last examinations a significant achievement.
He lauded the Mardan Press Club’s role in highlighting educational issues and bridging the gap between institutions and the public.
