KEMU projects highlighted
LAHORE: The 75th Syndicate Meeting of King Edward Medical University, Lahore, was held under chairmanship of Vice- Chancellor Professor Mahmood Ayyaz.
The chief guest of the meeting was Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry of Lahore High Court. KEMU welcomed its newly-inducted Syndicate members Professor Asad Aslam Khan and Professor Tabinda Rana. Vice-Chancellor of KEMU Professor Mahmood Ayyaz delivered a comprehensive briefing. He highlighted recently completed projects and upcoming developmental initiatives directly linked to medical education and professional training of students. These included establishment of a School of Artificial Intelligence, Clinical Trial Units, a Clinical Research Organisation and a Genome Sequencing Centre in collaboration with Centre for Non-Communicable Diseases. In addition, projects such as a Bio-Bank for genetic disease research and an Automated Peritoneal Dialysis Machine were also presented.
He said these initiatives will not only provide patients with world-class healthcare facilities, but will also expose students and researchers to advanced scientific research, practical training and cutting-edge technologies.
The guests appreciated professional competence and visionary initiatives of VC Ayyaz. They emphasised his leadership and reforms serve as a milestone in development of the University and a guarantee for bright future of its students.
The meeting was not only a reflection of KEMU’s academic, research, and administrative progress, but also an affirmation of its continuous efforts to promote cutting-edge scientific research and world-class healthcare services.
Professor Ayyaz reaffirmed his commitment that through these initiatives, King Edward Medical University will continue to secure a distinguished position in medical education and research, both in Pakistan and globally.
