Nepalese embassy cancels programme
ISLAMABAD: The Nepalese Embassy in Islamabad has cancelled its programmes to celebrate the 10th Constitutional Day, also observed as National Day, on 19 September (Friday).
The reception, planned by Ambassador Ms Rita Dhital at a hotel in the federal capital, has been postponed. The embassy had invited around 700 guests, but invitees are now being informed with regret that the event is deferred due to the situation in Nepal. Ambassador Dhital, who assumed her role last year, was set to host her first major reception for the occasion.
Nepal’s Constitution, effective from 20 September 2015, replaced the Interim Constitution of 2007. It comprises 35 parts, 308 articles, and 9 schedules. The Nepalese Embassy in Islamabad remains open, operating normally, including issuing visas and fulfilling other diplomatic duties. The mission is in regular contact with Nepalese nationals in Pakistan regarding the situation in their homeland.
