Man shot dead in Timergara
TIMERGARA: Unidentified armed motorcyclists shot dead a 42-year-old man at Manrai Haji Abad in the limits of Balambat Police Station here on Wednesday.
Police and local residents said the armed motorcyclists opened fire on Hanifullah, who had just returned from Saudi Arabia, killing him on the spot. The body was shifted to the Timergara Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
Relatives of the victim and the residents placed the body on the road and blocked Shaheed Chawk for quite some time in protest against the incident. The protesters demanded the district administration and the district police officer Lower Dir to arrest the killers within 24 hours, or else, they would continue protest against the incident.
The protesters dispersed peacefully after officials of the Lower Dir police assured them to arrest the killers as soon as possible.
It is worth mentioning here that during the last few weeks, three to four cases of robbery and snatching of valuables by armed motorcyclists have been reported in the same area and the law and order situation is worsening day by day in the district.
