Mustafa Amir murder case: Forensics on computers, 51 laptops seized from Armaghan’s call centres still pending
In the Mustafa Amir murder case, the forensic analysis of computers and laptops seized from the call centres of the arrested prime suspect, Armaghan Qureshi, has not yet been completed.
Due to the National Cyber Crime Agency’s delay in providing a complete forensic report, the final charge sheet could not be submitted. According to cybercrime sources, despite more than five months having passed, forensic work has not been carried out on the 51 laptops and computers recovered from the suspect’s illegal call centres. A total of 61 devices had been taken into custody for forensic examination. Meanwhile, the suspect’s personal mobile phone—believed to contain crucial information—has still not been recovered, reportedly going missing during a police raid.
A prepared report states that the accused admitted during his remand that he had been running illegal call centers. Cybercrime investigators have also recorded statements from 20 of the suspect’s key agents and associates.
Among them, 10 agents were found to have been using fake names to defraud foreigners through the call centres. The case proceedings will only move forward once the final charge sheet is submitted.
