HSSC exams results : Private colleges students bag top positions in Swat, Kohat

MINGORA/KOHAT/ CHAKDARA: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Swat and Kohat on Saturday announced the results of the higher secondary school certificate examinations 2025 with students from public institutions securing the top positions.

Abdul Muneeb of Cadet College Swat got the first position with 1,150 marks, followed by Rehman Ali of Degree College Mingora who secured 1,149 marks, while Maria Karam of Al-Madina College stood third with 1,145 marks.

The overall pass percentage for first year stood at 48.35 percent, while the second year results showed a much higher success rate of 82.11 percent. In first year, a total of 33,070 students appeared in the examinations, out of which 15,988 were declared successful.

The Pre-Medical group recorded 23,368 candidates with 12,771 passing, giving a success rate of 54.65 percent.

In Pre-Engineering, 1,380 students appeared, of which 464 passed, showing a result of 33.62 percent. The Computer Science group had 2,601 candidates, of which 628 cleared the exam, registering the lowest success rate at 24.14 percent. In the Arts group, 5,721 students appeared and 2,125 passed, with a result of 37.14 percent.

In the second year examinations, 32,152 students appeared and 26,399 were declared successful. Pre-Medical students once again performed strongly, as 22,441 appeared and 19,044 passed, with a success rate of 84.86 percent. In the Pre-Engineering group, 1,388 students appeared and 934 passed, giving a pass percentage of 67.29 percent. The Computer Science group had 2,179 candidates, with 1,669 clearing the exam, resulting in a success rate of 76.59 percent. In the Arts group,

6,144 students appeared, out of which 4,752 were

declared successful, with a pass percentage of 77.34 percent.

The results highlight the dominance of Pre-Medical students in both years, while also reflecting the relatively low performance of Computer Science and Pre-Engineering students in the First Year.

Public sector institutions received special recognition as their students secured all the top three positions, showcasing the academic strength of government

According to BISE Kohat Chairman Imtiaz Ayub, Cadet College Kohat’s student Ahmad Ali secured the first position by obtaining 1159 marks.

The second position was shared by two students including Muhammad Areeb of Cadet College Kohat and Ahmad Sohaib of Chokara Science College, Karak, who both secured 1134 marks.

The third position went to Maida Ejaz of Iqra Public School and College, Kohat, who obtained 1127 marks.

A total of 63,508 candidates appeared in the examinations, of whom 27,707 were declared successful, putting the overall pass percentage at 43.63.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Secretary Education Khalid Khan and Kohat Commissioner Muatassim Billah Shah distributed prizes among the position-holders at the ceremony.

Also, the BISE Malakand announced the results of the Intermediate Annual Examination 2025.

According to the results, Muhammad Farooq of Allama Iqbal Model School, Sakhakot, secured 1134 marks and topped the board. Fatima Bibi of Gens Model School, Chakdara, clinched second place with 1131 marks.

Habibullah of Dreams College, Timergara, and Kashan Khan of Government Higher Secondary School, Totai Malakand, shared the third position with 1130 marks each.

In Part-I, out of 39,248 candidates, 31,780 passed, marking a pass percentage of 80.97percent.

In Part-II, 34,362 out of 36,700 candidates were successful, recording a 93.63percent success rate.
