Sindh contingent for National Youth Games to comprise 365 members

KARACHI: Sindh contingent for National Youth Games 2025 will comprise 365 players and officials. The games are scheduled to be held in Islamabad from September 3 to 13. Olympian Nasir Ali has been appointed as the chef de mission of the Sindh contingent. Khalid Rehmani will serve as secretary and Asghar Baloch as treasurer.

The National Youth Games are being organized by the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) in collaboration with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA). It is worth mentioning that the 3rd Asian Youth Games will take place in Bahrain in October. The National Youth Games in Islamabad will provide emerging athletes with an opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially secure selection to represent Pakistan in the Asian Youth Games.

Sindh will compete in 16 disciplines, including athletics, hockey, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, weightlifting, judo, wrestling, e-sports, golf, swimming, kabaddi, and jujitsu. The National Youth Games will be staged at the PSB Sports Complex in Islamabad and the Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex in Rawalpindi.

Sources in the Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) and the provincial sports department confirmed that preparations have been completed and players have been selected. The contingent is scheduled to leave for Islamabad in two or three phases, with the first group departing on September 3, the second on September 5, and the third on September 7.
