Lahore ATC verdict announced at 10:30pm
LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) announced its verdict against Dr. Yasmin Rashid and others around 10:30pm on Tuesday.
According to sources, Yasmin Rashid and Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed were not present in the courtroom when the decision was announced, as both had returned to their barracks earlier. Yasmin Rashid reportedly left the court premises at 6pm, while Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed departed after 8pm.
Yasmin Rashid is still awaiting verdicts in 13 other cases, with her bail already rejected in several of them. While present in court, Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed — despite the anticipation of a sentence — remained calm. Ijaz Chaudhry appeared visibly upset after hearing the verdict but was consoled by members of Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s family. Meanwhile, Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s family expressed relief over his acquittal.
