Property prices jump 10-20pc across Rawalpindi after new DC rates

RAWALPINDI: A massive increase has been made in the official property rates in Rawalpindi. Following the revision, property prices across all categories have surged by 10% to 20%. The most expensive commercial properties in Rawalpindi are now located in the Cantonment (Cantt) area. According to the DC (Deputy Commissioner) rates, the most expensive locality is Askari 10, followed by Bank Road, and then Adamjee Road.

New DC rates have been issued for 1,056 localities (mouzas) across Rawalpindi district. The highest increase in property rates has been recorded in Gujjar Khan. In 384 localities, prices have increased by 10% to 20%. In 352 localities of Rawalpindi, rates have gone up by 10% to 18%, while Taxila (54 mouzas), Kahuta (160 mouzas), and Kallar Syedan (106 mouzas) have also seen an increase of 10% to 18% in official property rates.

In Askari 10, the price of on-road commercial per marla is Rs15,408,000 while the rate of off-road residential per marla is Rs1,782,000. On Bank Road, Saddar, on-road commercial: Rs14,157,000 per marla, off-road commercial: Rs13,374,000 per marla, on-road residential: Rs6,016,000 per marla while off-road residential: Rs4,761,900 per marla. On Adamjee Road, on-road commercial: Rs13,408,000 per marla and off-road commercial: Rs9,474,000 per marla. In Chaklala Scheme-3: on-road commercial: Rs11,275,200 per marla and off-road commercial: Rs7,235,000 per marla. In Raja Bazaar: on-road commercial: Rs6,264,000 per marla and off-road commercial: Rs5,554,800 per marla

Meanwhile, the rates for built structures have also been fixed, ranging from a minimum of Rs860 to Rs3,330 per square foot.
