GHOTKI: Seven dacoits were killed while eight managed to escape in an encounter at the Mahi Chowk near Sindh-Punjab border, said the DPO Zeeshan Asghar here on Tuesday.
The dacoits belonged to the Andherd gang and were involved in heinous activities in Sindh and Punjab areas and were wanted in several cases.On receiving information Sadiqabad, Kot Sabzal, Sindh, Ahmadpur and Bhung police jointly conducted a raid and during an encounter with the criminals seven dacoits were killed on the spot while eight managed to escape.
The dacoits were identified as Khan Mohammad, Nadir, Lalo, Sanuallah, Sagir and Mahdo while one dacoit is still not identified.Police started a search to nab the other absconding outlaws. A case was also registered against the criminals.
According to the CTD spokesman, the two were attempting to enter Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
