Woman commits self-immolation

OKARA: A woman committed self-immolation over a domestic dispute at Chak 31/2-L on Friday. Alia Bibi wanted to go to Lahore to meet her parents but her husband did not allow her. She committed self-immolation. Police are investigation.

 

One killed, six injured over land dispute in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: One person was killed while six others sustained injuries when rival groups traded fire over a land dispute, official and local sources said on Friday. They said the incident took place at Hafiz Jee Qilla in the limits of Khanmai Police Station. One Moezullah was killed while six others identified as Muhammad Ayub, Muhammad Farooq, Ali Khan, Saddam, Abdul Aziz and Amanullah sustained injuries during the exchange of fire, according to the police.The injured were taken to District Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda wherefrom four of them were shifted to Lady Ready Hospital in Peshawar due to their precarious condition.Police registered separate cases against the accused from both sides and started investigation.

 

PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man for blackmailing a woman through Facebook and e-mail.An official of the FIA said that a raid was conducted by a team headed by deputy director cybercrimes at a local shopping centre. A case was registered against the accused under sections 36, 37 of the ETO, said the official.

 

10 vacant houses of Afghan nationals demolished

JAMRUD: Security forces demolished 10 vacant houses of Afghan nationals in the Mullagori area of Khyber Agency, official sources said on Friday.The political administration had asked the Afghan refugees in Mullagori to vacate the houses constructed illegally. Most of the families had vacated the houses and left the area. Security forces after the expiry of the deadline started the operation and demolished 10 vacant houses of refugees. Assistant Political Agent, Jamrud, Saiful Islam, said that security forces demolished more than 10 houses constructed illegally by Afghan refugees in Mullagori. He said that more than 1,000 Afghan refugees were residing in the area illegally. The official added that the operation would continue till today (Saturday) and the security forces would demolish the remaining illegal construction.

 

Girl abducted

DASKA: A girl was abducted in the area of Sadar police on Friday. The daughter of Muhammad Iqbal was going to a shop when accused Shoaib and his accomplices kidnapped her in a car. Police have registered a case.

 

Journalist Mohammad Gul Bangash laid to rest

MARDAN: Senior journalist and former president of Katlang Press Club, Mohammad Gul Bangash who died on Thursday night was laid to rest in his village Ghundo Shamozai in Katlang tehsil on Friday. He breathed his last at the Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar, after a protracted illness. His funeral prayer was largely attended by notables of the area, relatives, friends, journalists, elected representatives and government officials.Mohammad Gul Bangash had been in the field of journalism for three decades. He was the correspondent for Peshawar Urdu daily Mashriq. He was also a Pashto poet and village elder. The deceased was the father of Shoaib Bangash and Siddique Bangash of Geo TV, Atiq Bangash and Altaf Bangash. His Qul will be held in Ghundo Shamozai on Sunday.
