ISLAMABAD: Petrol price is likely to surge by Rs6.60 per litre and diesel by Rs5.27 per litre from July 16, Wednesday, for the next fortnight mainly because of exchange rate and PL levy adjustments. However, kerosene price may tumble by Rs3.74 per litre and LDO (light diesel oil) by Rs2.23 per litre.
Petrol price is likely to settle at the new price of Rs273.39 per litre with an increase of 2.5 per cent and diesel at Rs278.25 with a hike of 1.9 per cent. However, the announcement of US President Donald Trump that he will increase trade sanctions on Russia if it did not stop the war against Ukraine has been causing more surge in POL prices in the international market. Crude oil prices have reached over $71 per barrel.
