Saman Rai assumes charge as Commissioner of OPC Punjab
LAHORE:Saman Rai has officially assumed the charge as Commissioner of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab. After taking charge, she received a comprehensive departmental briefing from senior officials of the Commission. The session covered current performance, pending cases, mechanisms for complaint resolution, and the challenges faced by overseas Pakistanis.
She directed all departments concerned to ensure the prompt and transparent resolution of complaints lodged by overseas Pakistanis. She emphasised, 'Overseas Pakistanis are our valuable asset. Protecting their rights and addressing their concerns in a timely manner is our core responsibility.'
She approved a comprehensive strategy to prioritise pending cases and enhance the performance of all complaint portals. The Commissioner stressed the need to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective communication to maintain the trust of overseas Pakistanis.
During the session, she was given a detailed briefing on the number and resolution rate of current complaints, performance of district-level overseas committees, nature of issues such as property disputes, family matters, and other social concerns, as well as the functionality of the online complaint system, tracking mechanisms, and inter-agency coordination with federal and provincial institutions. She reaffirmed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government is fully committed to ensuring dignity, respect, and justice for overseas Pakistanis.
