25 filtration plants installed at UET main campus
LAHORE:In a major step towards student welfare and campus development, Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, inaugurated a series of 25, state-of-the-art Reverse Osmosis (RO) water filtration plants and water coolers across the university's main campus. These include installations in all 17 hostels and four mosque facilities, ensuring clean and safe drinking water for thousands of students, faculty, and staff.
This initiative has been made possible through the generous support of Engr Maqsood Ahmad Malik (82-Civil), a UET alumnus . Engr Ahmad Naveed, Incharge Alumni Office, UET Lahore, briefed about the project and acknowledged the instrumental role played by Engr Irfan Ahmad, President of the UET Alumni Canada Chapter (UETAC), in initiating and materialising this impactful idea.
PPSC departmental exams continue
The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is conducting departmental examinations for Assistant Commissioners (ACs) and Section Officers (SOs). Following the directives of the PPSC Chairman, PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed visited different examination centres to review the arrangements made for the exams. According to a PPSC spokesperson, PPSC Member Siddique Sheikh visited the examination centres in Faisalabad, PPSC Member Irshad Ahmed reviewed arrangements in various centres in Multan, PPSC Member Naseer Ahmed Khan visited the centres in Rawalpindi and PPSC Member Shoaib Tariq Warraich inspected examination centres in Lahore.
37,000 take medical technicians exams
The annual and supplementary examinations of two-year technicians of Punjab Medical Faculty have started here on Monday. Secretary Punjab Medical Faculty Dr Shoaib Aslam visited the examination centers. Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the paper is being conducted in 56 examination centres in 26 districts of Punjab and three in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. About 37,000 students are participating in these examinations. It will be a big exam in the history of Punjab Medical Faculty. Examinations of 17 different courses of medical technicians are under way. Salman Rafique said that Punjab Medical Faculty is ensuring the examinations of allied health professionals under an integrated system. Punjab Medical Faculty is also trying to improve the curriculum of allied health professionals and improve the overall system. The minister appreciated the efforts of Secretary Punjab Medical Faculty Dr Shoaib Aslam for this effort.
