Non-duty paid cigarettes, other material worth Rs648m destroyed
HYDERABAD: The Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue (I&I) Hyderabad carried out the destruction ceremony of non-duty paid cigarettes and raw materials worth 648 million rupees, inclusive of taxes.
The destruction activity took place at the top of the Indus Hill and was attended by senior officials, including I&I Hyderabad Director Makhno Mahar, Sindh Balochistan Hub Coordinator Dr Aslam Marri and Commissioner Inland Revenue Naib Ali Pathan.
This high-value consignment, consisting of illicit cigarettes and related manufacturing materials, had been seized during a series of intelligence-based operations conducted between February and June 2025. After due legal proceedings, destruction orders were issued by the competent authorities, paving the way for lawful disposal of the seized counterfeit and non-duty paid cigarettes.
