Elders hail police operations in Bannu, Waziristan
BANNU: The elders from Bannu and North Waziristan districts on Monday expressed satisfaction over the recent police operations in Kam Chashmai and Bargantu and assured full support to the police in maintaining peace in the region.
The elders from Kam Chashmai in Domail tehsil and North Waziristan, who met Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan, discussed the law and order situation in the region with RPO and appreciated police actions in the area.
The official assured the participants that the police were taking all necessary steps to ensure public safety and restore lasting peace in the area. He said that those arrested during the operations will be probed and treated fairly. The RPO appreciated the role of local elders and said that liaison between the police and the community was key to sustainable peace. Participants shared their concerns, suggestions, and observations during the session.
Later, District Police Officer, Bannu, Saleem Kalachi, also held separate jirgas with community elders from Kam Chashmai and North Waziristan.During the jirgas, detailed discussions were held on the current security challenges, the prevailing situation, and the importance of collaboration with local elders to address these issues.
