MMC, BBCH treat 7,584 patients during Eid holidays
PESHAWAR: The Mardan Medical Complex and Benazir Bhutto Children Hospital (BBCH) extended healthcare services to 7,584 patients during the Eidul Azha holidays, officials said on Thursday.
They said that the hospital management had chalked out a comprehensive strategy to ensure uninterrupted provision of health services to the patients during the Eid holidays.“The MMC provided healthcare to 5,897 while BBCH tended to 1,687 children during Eidul Azha holidays. Out of the total 5,241 patients, 323 patients were admitted to different departments of the visited MMC for further diagnosis and treatment,” said a spokesperson for the hospital.
He said that 5,314 people were brought to the hospital for complaints regarding stomach disorders, fever, sustaining knives injuries while skinning sacrificial animals, strokes and other complaints. About 329 people wounded in road mishaps were also provided medical services during Eid holidays, he added.
Similarly, 161 major operations and minor procedures and 111 dialysis sessions were also performed during the holidays, he said, adding, 1,951 CT scans, ultrasounds, and X-rays were done, and 5,951 different tests were conducted by the Pathology Department.
Apart from this, he said, special arrangements had been put in place to ensure free treatment facilities to the general public through the Sehat Card programme.Meanwhile, Hospital Director Prof Dr Muhammad Fazil appreciated the doctors, nurses, paramedics, administrative staff, class-IV, janitorial, security and support staff for punctuality and helping in providing uninterrupted healthcare services to patients during the Eid holidays.
