‘No relief for common man in budget’
Rawalpindi:Political and social leader Chaudhry Inam Zafar has criticised the recent budget, stating that it fails to provide relief to the common man. Instead, it rewards already privileged ministers while imposing further hardships on ordinary citizens, says a press release.
The small increase in salaries and pensions of government employees is insufficient to keep pace with inflation, which will only worsen the plight of the common man. The budget policies will lead to increased inflation, placing an additional burden on citizens who are already struggling to make ends meet.
Chaudhry Inam Zafar, leader of the Awaam Pakistan Party, expressed disappointment with the budget for the financial year 2025-26. He noted that the 10% increase in salaries and pensions is inadequate, likening it to “a cumin in the mouth of a camel.” The same injustice has been done to pensioners.
The government has made promises to reduce inflation and make electricity cheaper, but these claims are unconvincing. The imposition of a carbon levy on petrol, diesel, and furnace oil will further increase inflation, directly affecting the common man.Chaudhry Inam Zafar emphasized that expensive electricity and additional bills have already made life miserable for ordinary citizens.
