Gandapur threatens armed march on Capital, to respond to bullets with bullets

ISLAMABAD: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Wednesday announced they would come to Islamabad with arms and respond to bullets with bullets, though Imran Khan’s sister clarified immediately that her brother had already declared they would go to the federal capital for protest. During a chat with the media here, Gandapur said this time the movement would be decisive “either this way or that way”, as their patience was exhausting now and the only option left was to launch a protest. 

“This time, I shall not disclose my plan to come here. I may come via mountains or through a tunnel or whatever,” he remarked and Imran’s sister Aleema immediately clarified that her brother had already made it clear that they would protest across Pakistan and would not come to the federal capital. The KP CM also announced supporting those protesting in the US for Imran Khan and said the overseas could protest as much as they wanted to as they did not face bullets. “It is not possible that someone beats us and we will keep getting beaten.We will support wherever there is a protest.” 

Gandapur said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment was a martial law on the judiciary, alleging drama was happening in courts. “Judges go on leave; how long will we watch as spectators? We have never brought weapons with us in protests, but now we will bring them and we will respond to bullets with bullets. If bullets are fired in protests, this time our bullets will also be fired,” he warned. He rejected the federal budget and called it completely disappointing. He said the government had presented a strange budget that neither had a “head nor a foot”. He claimed that there was a situation of hopelessness everywhere and in such a situation it had become necessary to launch a movement and take to the streets.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that getting justice in the country had become the most difficult thing, as Pakistan had come to the 129th spot in the Rule of Law Index. “We were hoping that there would be progress in the case today, but we were told that the judge is on leave,” he said. He explained that senior party leader Omar Ayub would be responsible for this movement; political differences should not be turned into personal enmity. Separately, Aleema Khan does not see any possibility of release of her brother from Adiala jail yet. However, she said Imran is satisfied with his preparations regarding the movement. She said that they could not stop the movement now, all the doors have been closed on them.
