ISLAMABAD: In the budget, duties have been reduced on thousands of imported items including vegetables, fruits, live animals, meat, pulses, varnishes, polishes, seeds, which will make these items cheaper.
The customs duty on live animals including horses, donkeys, cows, buffaloes, and goats has been reduced from 3% to zero, while the customs duty on various types of fish has been reduced from 11% to 10%. Customs duty on imports of certain vegetables and seeds has been reduced to zero, and customs duty on some vegetables has been reduced from 16% to 15%. Other items on which duty was reduced include chemicals, synthetic products, color dyes, coating printing inks, flavors used in various beverages, polypropylene, vinyl, insulin tape, newsprint, drawing and coloring books, fabrics, yarn, textile fabrics, rods and bars, stainless steel wires, copper alloys and other products, zinc plates, digital cameras, video cameras, multimedia, CCTV cameras, indicator panels, TV camera tubes, other cameras, projectors and other items.

Customs duties have been reduced or completely eliminated on machinery and equipment used in mining, agriculture, fisheries, horticulture, animal farms, poultry industry, dairy, IT sector, storage, communications, and infrastructure, LCD, LED, lithium battery parts.
Customs duties on raw materials used in medicines, chemicals, packaging materials, and medical devices have been reduced or eliminated.
