IB housing society case: Court orders separate allotment letter to complainant

Subject matter plot of one Kanal already stood bifurcated after construction of house by a co-owner of plot

ISLAMABAD: An administrative court in Islamabad ordered a criminal investigation by investigative agencies against IB Housing Society Management with directive to issue the petitioner a separate allotment letter.

The subject matter plot of one Kanal already stood bifurcated after the construction of a house by a co-owner of the plot after duly approved by the management of the society.

Assistant Commissioner Maheen Hassan, on a complaint filed by Irfan Ahmed, ordered the housing society of Intelligence Bureau Pakistan Town to officially partition the subject plot and issue a separate allotment letter to the applicant for his portion of the plot, allowing him to sell or utilise his part of the plot.

In case the society is unable to do (i), pay the applicant an amount equal to current market value (2025) of the plot that he would have received had he sold or disposed of the plot in his possession in the society today”, says the order.

The court also directed that the respondent/society shall also pay a sum of two hundred thousand rupees (Rs200,000/-) as cost to the applicant for undergoing the hardship over the years in obtaining his separate allotment of the land.
