SBBU Sheringal organises seminar on cyber security

DIR: The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU) Sheringal organised a one-day seminar on cyber security in collaboration with the district administration Upper Dir Upper and the Directorate of Societies.

Titled “Cyber Security: Does it Matter for a Common User?”, the seminar featured Dr Khalid Saeed as the keynote resource person, who delivered an insightful presentation on crucial aspects of cybersecurity, including confidentiality, integrity and availability, internet growth, cyber attacks and cyber frauds in Pakistan, providing a comprehensive overview of Pakistan’s cyber threat landscape.

The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Dr Riaz Ahmad, Dr Wajid Raza, director societies, Dr Irfanullah, HOD Computer Science Department, and other faculty members. In his address, Dr Riaz Ahmad, the chief guest, emphasised the significance of such seminars in shaping the futures of young individuals and expressed a commitment to replicating similar sessions across all district tehsils to raise awareness about cybersecurity among the masses.

The event drew enthusiastic participation from over 150 students from various departments, creating a dynamic and interactive atmosphere. A highlight of the session was the engaging question-and-answer segment, which facilitated a rich exchange of ideas and encouraged critical thinking among the youth.

At the event’s conclusion, Shahzad Tariq presented certificates of appreciation to participants and organisers, while shields were awarded.
